I like to observe and document as much as I can at your wedding, so if you don't want a gallery full of staged shots, the best thing is to trust me to use my instincts, and let me fly free...😅 Here are some tips to make sure the real wedding you're having is captured in an authentic way... Laugh your tits off! Ugly crying is NOT a thing - embrace your emotions. Make sure you actually see each other. Set a relaxed tone early doors. Don't micro manage the fun out of your day, let it flow. Be yourself, always, and 100% unapologetically. Let yourself breath on your day and magical things can and will happen, it's not a photo shoot, it a celebration of who you both are, and embracing your personalities (and your guests!) will always be something I encourage I'm good at capturing joy because I let it happen. STEP INTO MY OFFICE!⚡ This is the lovely Harry & Liana, who did the mighty deed last summer at the beautiful Barns At Redcoats, and like 99% of my couples, they were MEGA worried about being in photographs as they didn't really enjoy being the centre of attention, so they dropped me a message... ‘’Hey Danny, is it ok to have a quick chat before the big day? Just to make us both feel a bit at ease, we aren't great with photos of ourselves! LOL.’’ As you can see, they look INSANE together, and that's because working with nervous couples is not only a speciality of mine, it's one of the reasons I enjoy doing what I do so much because capturing a couples personalities in my images is something that drives me to work my ass off EVERY SINGLE WEDDING! I am always up for a chat, to talk you through the day, to calm your nerves about being photographed, but also to let you into a little secret - EVERYONE IS PHOTOGENIC - and whilst I will never tell anyone I am an amazing photographer, I will always back myself to capture who you are, the joy in your relationship, and the love you share in natural, fun and candid images of you both on your wedding day. You will be BUZZING YOUR TITS OFF on your day, and my job is to capture that incredible natural joy, not let my ego take over and turn your day into a photoshoot and TRUST ME when I say this - you will look & feel amazing - and my relaxed fun focused approach will capture that perfectly. ⚡WHY MOMENTS & CHOICES MATTER⚡ It was summer 2018 ⚡WHY MOMENTS & CHOICES MATTER⚡ It was summer 2018, I had been working really hard at elevating my work to a higher level, so a conversation I had with a fellow photographer a few days before about 'shooting through' a moment really hit home when I captured Lou & Aarons amazing wedding at the beautiful Childerley Hall, and it instigated a change in my approach that defined my relationship with weddings, and people, forever. Like a lot of photographers, I had allowed my focus (pardon the pun!) on making sure I captured the key moments (like a first kiss) sometimes prevent me from sensing when something else just as important might happen around this 'moment'. In this context, as is often just how it is because it does make some couples feel a bit self conscious, a 'first' kiss moment can be done in a split second, with nothing else happening.... ...now normally I would have captured the kiss and got my sexy little ass out of the way ASAP, so the registrars can do the legal stuff right, but I had a feeling that Lou was going to let that emotion she had been holding in throughout the ceremony out, so I stayed put for a few seconds more and then a little tear slide down her cheek and Aaron lent in to give her a little hug. The lesson I had learned was to trust my instincts, and to allow myself the opportunity of capturing something more than the obvious moment, because when you are open to that happening, well anything can and often does, and as a photographer it starts to become a 'sixth sense', and as my mate also said 'it isn't luck if you keep repeating that trick'. ⚡THE DREADED GROUP PHOTOS⚡ The worst part of a we ⚡THE DREADED GROUP PHOTOS⚡ The worst part of a wedding day, right? UTTER NONSENSE! I actually LOVE this part of the day, I make it fun, quick, organised with minimal fuss and my approach is lead exactly by what you value as a couple 🙂 I know it can be trendy to poo-poo on group photos as being a not really needed time sapping part of the day, but not only is that simply not my own experience having been capturing weddings for 15 years now, they are often the photos you unexpectedly look back on time and time again with laughter, love and often total comedic bewilderment! Now I do often get asked if I do groups/family photos at all, and I can confirm that I will capture all the standard groups photos to keep your family happy should you want them, but I see no reason why any of that can't also be an opportunity for some mischief, a bit of a classy editorial vibe, a bunch of mates to relive their teenage dreams of pop stardom or to simply grab a lovely photo of you and your family actually looking smart and presentable...for a change haha! My word, what a truly fantastically stylish wedding to kick off my 2026 season, just look at the wedding attire that Kira & Josh are rocking, I was in love with the black & purple vibes and that dress was UNREAL! Holmewood Hall was the host of this beautiful and intimate day for the awesome Josh & Kira, they decided on small numbers of guests but they were all BIG characters, and I had a fantastic day with all the people they truly love and care about. I had a lovely 5 star Google review from Kira as well: ''Such a fun and chill guy. Took some wonderful pictures and incorporated everything including the details. I don't think we could've asked for a better photographer to catch our special day.
