Gareth & Sarah had one of the most beautiful and emotional weddings I captured in 2015…and it was awesome!
From the moment I met up with Gareth & Sarah for the first time, at a lovely pub in Bedford, two things were obvious to me – that they were a GREAT couple and I REALLY wanted to photograph this wedding! The plans they had, the planned details, the ideas and the venues were all really exciting and I was over joyed when they decided to book me. We very quickly built up a friendly and run rapport over email and Facebook that really did end with me feeling like I was capturing the special day of some good close friends and that speaks volumes for them as people (and also their wonderful friends and family).
The day was one of those that went super fast, there was so much to see and photograph, so I didn’t really have time to stop and that was great because if I had I might have missed some of the multitude of memorable moments that were captured. It was also a day full of emotion – obvious happiness for a day like this – but also much sadness due to love loved family members that were no longer with us. I have to say putting my camera down for a few minutes during Gareth’s beautiful tribute to his late father, who he clearly loved very much, felt like the right thing to do and I was a little overwhelmed with my own emotions as well. It was however followed by one of the very best and most well executed bestman performances I have ever witnessed from Gareth’s brother, who performed a tribute song a cappella like a world class showman, and it brought the house down – legend!
We had a lot of fun shooting portraits in and around the unfinished Elizabethan summer house that carries the name of Lyveden New Bield, both Gareth & Sarah were totally at ease in front of the lens and full of mischief (which ALWAYS helps) and it made for some of my favourite photographs of my 2015 wedding season! What a truly brilliant day from start to finish and a massive congrats to the new Mr & Mrs Cobley!
